I have not owned a race horse since 1988 and the game has always had the changing trend of trainers (Vet) who's got the secret new trick to move horses up. If you are going to get in this game and think that hay, oats, water and workouts are going to get the job done, then let me suggest that you claim them high so you have a place to drop them.

When our barn was winning races the vet bill was sky high.

Look at Jack Van Berg who is a basic hay oats and water trainer and you cant tell me that all the horses he has had in the last 10 years were that bad for him to fall off the charts.

You have to consider who the new barn is before you make your wager and you do have the chioce to skip the race. I guess the point is that if money is involved we will have people finding an edge to win. Cheating or bending the rules, call it what you want , but if you plan on cashing some ticket you better add it to your handicapping program.
