Come on, guys. Watchmon's pedigree isn't all that bad. Sire has a Derby winner and a champion filly on his CV. Dam a SW by Notebook, a respected regional sire, from a family with plenty of blacktype. In a regional market like New York, he'd fit in quite well. His physical attributes (or lack thereof) would be the decider.
Now a horse like Lava Man would be a hard sell as a sire prospect anywhere - his sire's okay, but his damline is dead for generations back. Good thing he's a gelding.
