The only fans I would say are not band wagoners, are the New York fans. They come out for the Yankess, Mets, Giants, Jets and Rangers no matter how bad the team is.
Bigs, I'm not sure it is all bandwagon fans......I think it has a lot to do with ticket availability and cost. The Yankees and Red Sox ticket prices are outrageous and tickets are almost impossible to get without going to a scalper. It is cheaper to go to Baltimore or Tampa and make a weekend out of it than pay $200 a ticket for box seats.

Same thing with certain football and hockey teams. It is very difficult to get a Redskin or Steeler ticket in the home city but pretty easy to go see a game in Atlanta or Buffalo.
