I was wrong though - I didn't think Saarland would throw one horse worth a damn. This filly is obviously very nice.
I remember when Victory U.S.A (who cost a mere 525K) handily won her debut at Del Mar in near track record time - with Mike Smith pumping his fist and showboating before the wire. It was 6 lengths back to eventual two-year-old Grade 1 winning filly Hollywood Story in 2nd.
Victory USA's freshman sire at the time, Victory Gallop, now stands in Turkey.
One nice debut winner does not make a crop or sire - and this was BY FAR Saarland's most expensive yearling.

Did you like the Saarland filly that Pletcher bought at Keeneland in April for $300,000? I liked that filly but I did not expect her to go for that much. I thought she would go for $150,000-$200,000.
