Hope he does well after his fever bout and fires big on Saturday. Would love to see this guy in the winner's circle rather than the Pletchers, Asmussens and Dutrows of the world. Kudos to you Steve with the interview!
(meant this thread for ATR room...sorry!)

Agree 1000%. This is the kind of guy people just love to root for. A real ol' time horseman, loving the game and having the time of his life. He's been around the backstretch his entire life and you can just hear the passion for this incredible game every single time he opens his mouth. There are just certain people you listen to when they speak -- and there is a passion that knows no bounds! He's one of them.
Like I was just reading about Richie Migliore hustling to get to Churchill to work Bob Black Jack. A great ambassador for the sport, talk to Migliore -- any day, any time -- and all you hear is passion for the game. Another guy you just want to root for.
Like him or not, just like last year -- Calvin Borel -- meat and potatoes jock his entire life, out every morning working, helping out his brother at the barn, and look at the passion and emotion that this guy showed after winning the Derby. Wow! You are right Triple H -- that's what this game is all about!
