It's "veterinary" school, not "veterinarian" school (DocICU, did you go to "doctor" school?
) - more properly a College of Veterinary Medicine; and it's "veterinary" college, and "veterinary practices".
You will not be invited to participate if that is the way you write it in your admissions application essay
What I would do: make an appointment as soon as possible with an admissions counselor at the nearest vet school - more than one if necessary. Usually these folks are in the Dean's office working with the admissions committee.
They will review your current bonafides to date (yes, they meet with many students who are currently undergraduate juniors), where you fit now in the applicant pool, and advise you on what you will need to do over the next year or few to make your application as solid as it can be.
These people are extremely helpful. Their job is to help you gain entry into professional school. Use them. They know what it takes to be admitted.
