by Racing Post staff
CLIVE BRITTAIN'S Kandidate worked well under Ryan Moore on Saturday morning in preparation for his crack at the third round of the Maktoum Challenge, the Group 2 highlight of this week's Super Thursday, run over 1m2f on the dirt.
Winner of round two last year, he was runner-up in that race this year and Brittain is pleased with his six-year-old: “He is in good shape and he thrives in Dubai. It was a good run last time but obviously he (Lucky Find) will be hard to beat again.
“Kandidate is much better than he showed in the World Cup last year and has won over further so stamina is not an issue.”
Mike De Kock's Lucky Find also worked and the South African trainer said: “He went well and we are very pleased with him. He has won over this trip at home (on turf) and we will decide between the World Cup and Godolphin Mile for him after Thursday.”
Argentina's Latency will also opposethem on Thursday and looked in good shape.
Mick Channon's Majestic Roi is on target for the Group 2 Jebel Hatta, over 1m1f on turf and was seen cantering gently on the dirt.
De Kock's Honour Devil, under Johnny Murtagh, and stablemate Royal Vintage, first and second in the UAE 2,000 Guineas, both worked separately and will reoppose in the 1m1f Al Bastakiya, a race won last year by Asiatic Boy. He will run in the 1m Burj Nahaar ahead of his crack at the World Cup.
John Oxx's Mourilyan will runin the 1m4f City of Gold and worked on grass under Mick Kinane.
