I was up and walking a bit last night and this morning as well. I am surprisingly moving very well.

My surgeon said the procedure went very well. He went in, removed the parts of the L4-L5 disk that had broken apart and were surrounding both sides of my spine and leaning up against a nerve on my spine. That was what was causing all the pain in my legs. I noticed IMMEDIATE relief in my legs when I awoke from the surgery yesterday. This is the first time in 18 months that I have been able to experience a day without any pain in my legs.

I have to take it very easy for the next 4 weeks. The only thing I can really do is get up and walk around, increasing the amount everyday. I can't bend, shift or lift anything heavier than a carton of milk. I can't ride in a car for a month either (NO OTB?!?!?! ) I guess that just means I will have to be on Derby Trail all day, everyday for the next 4 weeks...lucky ya'll.

Thanks so much to everyone for ya'lls thoughts and prayers. They mean the world to me and it also means a great deal to have wonderful friends like everyone on here.

Much love,

Kev, I'm very happy to hear that the operation was a success and you are doing well. That is great news!
