I agree that the highly favorable pace setup more than made up for any ground she lost on the far turn.
Also, as I recall, the second place finisher was hung up about just as wide around the first turn as the winner was around the 2nd turn.
I don't think the winner did much more from a ground loss standpoint than the 2nd place horse - and I'd much rather be wide catapulting around tiring horses on the far turn ... than caught wide with a speed horse while up near a very strong pace in the first turn.
Also agree that the Remsen field - going 9fs with that kind of pace - were setup to look bad - and the winner had a bad trip to boot - but the winner sort of has a look of a dog biscuit to me...and the ones behind him have no look at best.
