Bullish Luck to miss HK Cup as injury hits
ALAN AITKEN
Horses headed for the internationals have always seemed to have some sort of curse hanging over them and this year is no different, with four expected runners having fallen by the wayside - now including Bullish Luck.
Packing Winner did not get as far as an invitation after a tendon injury, the New Zealand stayer Scupltor has now been injured and will not come and apparently connections of Syllabus will miss the Vase as well.
But trainer Tony Cruz reported that the tungsten-tough legs of Bullish Luck have finally started to show some age and he has suffered a suspected hairline fracture to a knee.
"He's always raced on the hardest tracks - he's needed the hardest tracks to show his best - and he's had plenty of racing," Cruz said. "He won't retire but he will have some box rest for a few weeks and then we'll see where we go from there."
