thats 2 years in a row the derby winner has lost his racing career on the pimlico dirt.

I don't think you can blame either specifically on Pimlico's dirt. Barbaro took a bad step, that could have happened on any track.( I don't know the answer for sure why he took the bad step, but I haven't heard many blame the track conditions that day).. and AA was nearly knocked over by another horse, the dirt has an alibi!
