Interesting conversation with my wife last night regarding the potential Dee Tee - NYB. After telling her about NYB deal, her response was - "Why don't you get your NY license in case you decide to get involved in a horse on your own, or with a higher ownership percentage?".

After asking her who she was and what she did with my wife... I proceeded to do some research. Few questions:

1). Do you need to have current ownership over 3% to get licensed? Or can a prospective owner get licensed.

2) If you need ownership to be licensed, could an owner with under 3% choose to get licensed?

3) Can you get fingerprinting done at Belmont Racing office.

4) What the heck is the new Workers Comp affadavit? Does this apply to owner applications.

The State website is about as clear as mud... Any guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Pat
Pat:

1.) You can get licensed with less than 4% stake...

2.) So, yes...

3.) Yes... Not the racing office but at the NYSRWB office on the grounsd floor in the grandstand, followed by getting a NYRA badge in the credential office upstairs in the Clubhouse...

4.) You're covered already by our run(s) at Saratoga and the $600 insurance fee paid for 2007...
