Although I've never stayed there, I know this motel and have been there several times. I have a friend who stays there every year and I have visited him there several times. The place is owner operated -- husband and wife, nice people. I wouldn't have said 10 miles outside of town, but I'll go with that. Either way, it's not a bad ride into town.

This place, for a clean, plain and simple, no-frills motel, is fine and probably nicer than any of the other "motels" in the area. I've never stayed at any of those motels in the area, but a few friends have and believe me you may not even want to spend the night at some of these places. The rooms here seem "newer" and have been redone, basic and simple. I think the place has two sizes of rooms, and every one I've seen the past couple of years has relatively new, color, remote control TV's. There's no restaurant or coffee shop, but there is a nice swimming pool. Interestingly enough, I've never seen anyone using the pool. Also, I think the place uses well water or something of the like. To me, it smells weird, a "bad" smell if you know what I mean. The bathrooms seem a bit small and somewhat tight, but it's manageable for what you get, are paying for, etc.

Of the "motels" I've seen between this place and Saratoga, in the same price range, this one is a good step ahead. Closer to town, you are paying more money strictly for proximity, but I don't think any of them are as "OK" as this place. Some of the other places I hear about or have seen are absolutely filthy, smell, have things that don't work, etc.
