Also, could he maybe be even better at this surface, kinda like when Showing Up moved to the Turf after the Derby last year?
what? you do know danzig is deceased, right? which is why hard spun is so sought after....

i don't see hard spun falling off the map. he almost won the derby, so i don't think the distance is an issue for him. maybe he's the congaree of his time, right set up, right race, he can win it--altho it may be just a bit too long for him.
