Is is because no one has taken the time to set up a "horse-reference" site? Is it because these data collection companies don't want to "give it away?"

Just seems a little backward to me. Why not allow people to see how the great ones ran? And not just the great ones - any horse not currently running.

And if I'm misinformed and there is a site or reference for seeing the stats of some of the great ones, I love a heads up.

The folks at Daily Racing Form know how to make a buck. Can't say I really blame them and they're the only game in town on this kind of thing.
