Got lucky in the 5th race @ Belmont on the 12th, the Black Eyed Susan on Friday & early pick #4 on Saturday's Preakness card. It's been a long time coming and it feels great! I just hope that during the Saratoga meet...it is profitable as now.

Roddy Piper? Had to be good. A few years ago on a flight from Chicago to Dallas I sat next to Terry Funk. He was wearing a pair of old wrestling boots instead of shoes. A very nice man, though with all the scars (the one thing real about pro wrestling is the blood), he looked older than his years.
While not my longest losing streak, I'm in the middle of a terrible stretch. I've bet three horses seriously the past week. One I was just wrong on and my p-3 was busted anyway. I also bet a turf claimer who missed by a short nose at 5.80-1 to a fairly impossible 20-1 shot I did not use. That nose cost me $4000 of winning wagers. A couple days ago I bet another turf runner at Calder named Carambola who went off at just under 2-1 in the last leg of the early p-4. I was live on $13 of p-4's paying $473 each. He got a clear outer flow trip and took the lead in upper stretch but was outclosed by a legitimate horse who got a great inside trip and beat my guy by two lengths. I managed to have a $25 exacta that paid $26, so I didn't lose badly.
I can take the losing (though + $9,000 would be a lot nicer than the - $700 I am on these three horses) but the combo platter of being very wrong on one, sort of wrong on another and fairly unlucky on the third is not digesting especially well.
