That was quite a ride by Pat Day aboard him in the 1987 JC Gold Cup. Letting Creme Fraiche pull a wire job. That was almost as bad as his rides aboard Sky Classic in the BC Turf and Arlington Million.

While I was extremely disappointed in that JCGC loss, it wasn't as bad as it seemed. I wish Day had ridden the race different but losing to Creme Fraiche wasn't a disgrace. Creme Fraiche was a seven-time grade one winner in his career and obviously excelled running in 12f dirt races, being a Belmont Stakes winner in addition to winning back to back runnings of the JCGC.
