I said about Kobe recently that if the Lakers are going to go down, it has to be with him firing, not playing all that team ball stuff. Dirk doesn't have to take on the same offensive role that Kobe does but he does need to step up his game. The season was on the line and he was doing nothing. Now, a couple of big three's later, some of his disappearing act will be forgotten. Not by me though. Dirk is a great player. He's still one of the best players in the league. But he's not at the level of guys like MJ, Bird, Magic, Reggie Miller, even Kobe and Wade. He's more like the Garnett, Webber, LeBron type. Immensely talented. Great regular season and first three quarters of a game type. But when it comes time to take it to that next level, they don't have that inner fortitude that's necessary. Don't let the shots at the end of tonight's game fool u. Dirk has disappeared in these playoffs. Baron Davis is the one playing like an MVP in this series.
Dirk just made a reappearance. He took the game over. Blocked shots, made some steals, assists and hit some huge 3's. He came thru on the brink of destruction. He was it for the Mavs in the 4th quarter. 9 down after being up 21... and Dirk made it happen. I give him credit even though he is acting like a big baby. He flat out took over the game.
