I bought 5 '84 DonRuss in '87 at 5 bucks a pack ( Mattingly going for $75 at the time).
NO puzzle pieces in any of them.
I went back to the filthy swine...who was busy at the time( no doubt fleecing someone else) ...so his son heard my complaint. So he goes to his welching Dad....comes back and says..." DR was known for that."
Well NO..they weren't.....but I wasn't going to have it out with a 10 year old.
It was then I stopped the whole mess. Dealers were pig swine and I would think still are.....
...don't ya know.

as for the "unopened pack" theory....had a simliar incident with

(at the time mucho $$$) ...the guys at the Cumby's went through the foil pack looking for the ever elusive "Junior" rookie card
I said "no way" I'm buying a "searched" box...he did give me one the was sealed (threaten his termination with his boss if he didn't!)
