Curlin's has raced against weaker but he's won like a good horse should. He's had 3 races this year so he meets that criteria. His figs match up with the best of his class. But is it too much too soon? A lot of rules have been broken in the past few years. We've had a ny bred win who was a gelding. Last years winner raced off a 5 week layoff and if the grass race he won on New Years Day was one day prior it would have ruined the must have 3 races rule. The no races at 2 is the last sacred cow.
It should be an interesting Derby and I look forward to handicapping it in 2 3/4 weeks.
