what is the ratio of horses vs horses who start? how many of a typical foal crop even makes a race? half, if that?
the odds of this horse making a race, let alone a stakes, let alone WINNING, is slim.
the price paid for a horse in no way indicates what he'll do at a later date. look how many pay out big bucks for a broodmare prospect, look how much a stallion is syndicated for--as if the horse knows, puffs out his or her chest, salutes, and says 'i'll do my best.'
ap indy is the only high priced horse i know of to earn more on the track then he went for at auction.
