Fair Grounds
Grade 1 winner King’s Drama (Ire) (King’s Theatre [Ire]), who
was pulled up by jockey Edgar Prado on the backstretch of the Mervin
H. Muniz Jr. Memorial Handicap (G2) on Saturday, suffered an apparent
knee injury.
The seven-year-old gelding, trained by Bobby Frankel for owner
Gary Tanaka, was the 9-to-10 favorite in the 11⁄8-mile turf race.
“He’s okay,” Frankel said. “He’s not in any life-threatening situation
or anything like that.”
King’s Drama has won ten of 31 career starts and earned $1,157,916.
