Very interesting Merlinsky.. because its still a classic and if you own a good one you want to win the classic. pletcher would very muched be biased towards the horse with the crown chance.

I guess if I owned a horse in that situation I would discuss the scenario with Pletcher. I am sure that Pletcher would be in a tough spot because if his B horse beats the crown hopefull, the owner of the Derby/Preakness winner would no doubt be bitter towards Pletcher (especially if the horse runs a close second to the B starter).

If I owned the "B" horse, I think I would switch the horse to a new trainer for the Belmont only, to take the pressure off Pletcher.

I only wish I could be in this situation one day!
