If you're a $50-$70 better you do it for the enjoyment, not to make a living. A big hits nice but do you really want to risk it over 1:12 or 1:42 time period. Cahnces are yo are going to loose.
I'd spread your money over several races, maybe doubles etc. if you want to go for a bigger payoff.
Last, why partner if you're not going to agree? It's fun on occasion but you're not talking about some bg syndacate. Get a buch of people together if you want to do that.
