If any of his offspring raced at tracks above Emerald or Portland Meadows he'd likely have 0% winners first time out. Win % are the most overvalued stat in horseracing. Everything is relative to each situation. If I took my stable to Emerald and Portland Meadows we'd probably win like 40% (and lose our ass because of the purse structure). I would not be a better trainer. I would just have better horses than most on my curcuit. Same thing with sires. A big time producer in a regional state would most likely be an also ran if moved to KY. There are always horses that make it from meager beginings (Saint Ballado, Dynaformer, Storm Cat) but most sires fail.
