ROI Results 9/10 @ Kentucky Downs
The rain held off on Saturday on the green green grass of Kentucky Downs and I for one was glad it
did. Four winning wagers go in the books and three players hit the board. Cal got a superfecta in
race 8 but no profitability. Don said he "mistakenly" hit a wager in the 11th and it was good enough
for third place and more of a cushion on his ROI lead as the year quickly winds down. Bay Storm got
Don $87.48 and a small profit. Digger gets second going the Gufo route and came out $47 to
the good. I would say "Real Quiet got an easy win this week" but it wasn't that easy. An exacta key
in race 11 gave me a profit of $341 and the win. Normally that's good enough but Plenilune
and Joly made me sweat it out. Plenilune made a run in Race 12 with a win bet on Run Curtis Run
who finished second and cost Jane a $900 return. Joly went the pick 5 route and had the first four
winners two of whom paid $25.56 and $26.04. JB had the fav going into race 12 and another better
priced runner but could only get 3rd place. The winning Pick 5 paid $20,000 + and while Joly's return
wouldn't be that astronomical I'm guessing it would have been enough to win the day and
maybe enough to challenge Don for the yearly lead especially if the 8 won. In any case congrats
to the connections of Red Knight on winning the 10th and perhaps a shot at the Breeders Cup to
try to pull off another upset. Following are the unofficial results pending a review of the charts.
See you all next week wherever I see you.
