First and most obviously, John Imbriale gets the plum spot, not just for NYRA, but given the 500+ hours of TV coverage that will follow with FS2/MSG+ this upcoming season.
Second, NYRA is a winner here as given John's multiple roles and his versatility, he is comfortable sharing the announcing spotlight and does not need to the "the guy". As a result, the third winner could well turn out to be Travis Stone with an open July and August from his main Churchill role. Other winners could include Anthony Stabile and/or Frank Mirahmadi over the summer.
Perhaps Larry Collmus was interested in doing less. Perhaps the NBC contract pays him far more than I would believe. Perhaps it was hardball that did not payoff.
However there is simply no other circuit to which he can now move his tack that would be as important as NYRA. If he were to go anywhere, perhaps Gulfstream in place of Pete Aiello? But again, at 53, you have to think he is not done.

Please, not Stabile... ..listening to him call a race is painful.. Maybe Wrona or Stone.
