I just have to share this with all of you.
I called up Anne and asked her if I could take her out for dinner.
I was planning to discuss the "Patriot Act", which I don't think is all that patriotic, but knowing her way with words, I was hoping she could explain it to me over the food on the table.
Well, she graciously agreed to let me take her out.
I was plenty hungry by the time the non-English speaking taxi driver found her apartment. I buzzed her and she came right down. The taxi waited.
So, I opened her car door, gentleman that I am, and asked her, "What's your favorite place to get something?"
Somehow, she gave directions to the driver. I didn't know she was fluent in whatever language it was.
Luckily, the taxi driver parked right in front of her favorite place.
Over the awning were the words "Anorexic Cafe".
On the door were the words "CLOSED".
So I took her back to her place and dropped her off.
She had a very "satisfied" look on her gaunt face, stringy blonde hair hanging down.
Dang, I never got to even discuss the "Patriot act" with her.
Picked up a burger and fries on the way home.
