I think Carter was basically trying to give a voice that is seldom heard in this country. The plight of the Palestinian people is rarely broadcast. They ARE oppressed and anyone looking at the situation fairly would surely agree.

Now, does that mean the Israeli government is completely wrong in some of the measures they have taken? Absolutely not. The Palestinians themselves can shoulder a lot of the blame for whats going on there right now. At the same time, the other Arab countries in the region as well as the US has to take some of the blame also.

Remember, the propaganda machine that reports in the region. Remember also how much is censored by the US and Israeli governments respectively. We hear about he car bombings in Tel Aviv but how much do we hear about the killings of innocent Palestinians in the west bank?
Dala: you must not follow CNN much,or msnbc, they're always bringing the plight of the Palestinian people to us. What is unfair is the countries surrounding Israel have sworn to exterminate them, and the Arab world cared not for the Palestinians, but squandered Billions of US dollars/aid and lined their own coffers from this chaos!
