The reason for this being that trainers only know how their own horse is doing, not everyone elses.
When a trainer or owner tells me to bet his horse, I say ok, but rarely will do so based on that.
There is like one guy alive who can tell me to bet someone that i will automatically include, and since hes up every morning at 4:30 watching horses go every morning, all morning, and hall of famers call HIM to ask him how he thinks THEIR horses are doing, I respect the hell out of him.
I don't post "inside info" on here, but will be very happy to IM with someone off the board in a private conversation about what I have HEARD.
