Unless Donald Trump wins outright, he will not get the nomination. They will concede the race to Hillary Clinton, purposely, at the convention.
There will be a coronation of Ted Cruz, noses plugged, and they will force (politically speaking) one of the most liberal "Conservatives" in modern history to run as his VP to shore up the brain dead OH vote.
So you have oil and water on the same ticket, with zero appeal to anyone. Perfect.
They will lose the general election- And they know it, and don't care.
Throw all the BS about SCOTUS appointments, "conservative values", "personal morals" and all the rest straight out the window.
Because when you make your millions by stealing billions you are far better off with corruption at the top, even if it isn't your particular flavor. And money trumps (sorry) all.
Like Donald Trump personally or not (I don't know when this became a popularity contest, but I digress) - When the Left is screaming as loudly as the Right about him, you have to be completely blind or completely ignorant to not see what he is exposing.
He was never my first choice either, but he is the only choice to try to restore some semblance of a functional government.
Here is what we can be pretty sure he is going to try and do:
1. Secure the southern border
2. Restrict entry into the US from certain regions where terrorism is rampant, until they can be vetted - not just blindly issue visas
3. Balance the trade arrangements by threatening to move production to countries with more favorable trade relationships (the majority of manufacturing jobs are gone and they are never coming back here) - we all know this.
4. Reduce corporate tax rates to stem corporate inversion and eliminate
penalties to bring off shore profits back into the US
5. Employ realistic energy strategies to remain as independent of foreign oil as reasonably possible
Here is what he is not going to do:
1. Kick out 11 million illegal immigrants
2. Force Apple to make Iphones in the US
That is miles ahead of what a 3rd Obama term is going to do for us in the long run.
So hold your collective noses, cross your fingers, etc. but start learning to deal with it, because the Republican *Alternative* is no alternative at all.
