Excellent article. Thanks for posting!
I was fortunate enough to visit Happy Valley last November. It is smack dab in the city, very much like Wrigley Field. And the party atmosphere is just as intense. It was Oktoberfest night and lots of Lowenbrau was flowing.
It's old school betting there. Fill out a ticket and take it to the window. I just bet on J-Mo's horses most of the night, until I saw Rich Tapestry's jockey Olivier Deleuze (who was 1 for 50 at the meet) was on 19-1 shot. Sure enough he came home the winner. Fun ticket to cash.
The HKJC has done an amazing job with the facility and the atmosphere. If you ever get to HK on biz, try and time it so that you can be there on a Wednesday night. You will never forget it!
Cheers,
Otis
