First Tarpon Springs cop killed in the line of duty since 1969. I live about 3 miles from where this took place. Absolutely gut-wrenching. I drive by the Police Station on my way to work most days - today they have his patrol car out front adorned with a black sash and flowers from the community:
He was responding to a noise complaint. Apparently this pillar of the community was at a party earlier in the evening where someone told him that a guy in this condo had ratted him out for something.
So he shows up there at 3AM and starts banging of doors with the butt of his handgun and screaming.
When this cop shows up, he pumps 7 ROUNDS into the cop, unfortunately one of them caught the him just above his bulletproof vest.
Maybe GR can explain to us how this coward piece of sh1t was just a misunderstood victim of the white man's system and really it's the gun's fault.
