Jockeys swithching tracks?
 

I was just wondering if anybody had any good luck or stories with little track jockeys moving up and nobody giving them any respect until it was too late and you had already made a fortune because you knew he was great.

Harness Haters Lay-off, but Tony Morgan, one of the best drivers in the country and a dominant force in Chicago for years, left to go to Dover Downs earlier this year. This guys won at a 40 to 50% his first couple of weeks there and no one was hammering this guy, well a few of us were.
This would be like Johnny V. showing up in So Cal. and nobody knows who he is and they let him win for a couple of weeks before they hammer down the odds.

Yes, this was the case when Gary Stevens came to Southern California from Longacres in approximately 1985. He was bringing home all kinds of winners at big prices.

For Harness, avoid anyone named Irvine
 

Since you mentioned harness and Cleveland, I'll submit that anyone who is addled enough to bet harness races for more than...say $10 a race.....should avoid at all costs any track that anyone named Irvine drives, trains or sells beer in a concession.

2005, Jose Lezcano at Monmouth. Wound up 5th, I believe, in his first season there and consistently moved horses up.

Lezcano is a very strong finisher and, at just 21 years old, is one of the very best younger jockeys around. A couple more years and he'll be seasoned enough to ride with the best consistently. By the time he's 25, he'll be one of the top 10 jocks in the country, IMO.

Lezcano is a good one. I also was all over him a Mth last year.

Do you remeber when Sandy Hawley came to Calif? Hit so nice ones with him aboard.

He took Johnny V. to school in the '06 Tampa Bay Derby with Deputy Glitters over Bluegrass Cat.

Was deadly in '04-'05 on Tom Proctor horses and more so in '05-'06 for Ziadie/Averill.

Moves horses up every time.

i dont follow the harness game but im sure most know who tony morgan is considering he was one of the leading drivers in the country for wins year in and out for the past how many years? maybe ya caught some prices but i doubt the guy was unheard of there@dover, im sure they have simulcasting there and watched this guy clean up at maywood, balmoral, sportsmans, hoosier and hawthorne for a number of years
