Wilko

I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned, but Wilko's back in an AOC this weekend, then to the 'Cap. If Jazil had his detractors, Wilko's probably one of the most disdained horses in recent memory. I hope he does well after recovering from a bout with colic.

I love this one. I was so excited to read about him coming back last night.

I don't care if he hasn't won since the juvy, because I'm betting there aren't that many horses who have earned more in the time since then....even when they're winning races.

I had him in the Juvy and will never forget the way he dug in coming off the turn and came again in the stretch. In my mind, the way I like Jazil PALES compared to the way I love Wilko.

I like this horse as well. My first job at a farm I previously worked for was taking care of the foaling barn. The first horse I helped foal and raise at that farm was Wilko. He was born fairly early on in January of '02. We always joked that the teaser must have bred the mare because he was so small. He's certainly not the most talented horse on earth but he'll run his guts out each time. I hope he stays healthy and picks up a few more nice checks.:)

this is my favorite way to root for horses;) ...everytime they run, even if you haven't seen them since the day they were foaled you still know you hand a hand in getting them where they are now...I'll be rooting for him for you.

Even though he hasn't won in almost 3 years, I can't help but like Wilko. Maybe it's the underdog thing, I don't know.

I hope he does well.

I had Wilko bet in the Juvy. Keyed him on top in the trifecta (had it twice which is a big deal to me). Missed the Superfecta because crummy ole Roman Ruler didn't do squat.

Did Wilco finish 3rd and then get moved up to the place money in the Dubai World Cup because Brass Hat was dq'ed for drugs. I barely remember.

I think it's Wilko that has been running in impossible races going long when he did most of his winning in sprints

I have bet this ****er every time except the juvenile and swear off of him every time after.

Something about the way he digs in and looks like he might win sucks me in every time.

I'll go on record now and say that I will back him this time too...

Even though I know it is stupid. I love that gritty little bastard

I can only say this.....look at his money won and you can tell his class. He is all class. And with a bit better connections he would be more famous. Ask your self this, when he retires, where does he rank on the all-time money earnings list. VERY HIGH! So, get off his back! HATERS!
