I do that with the yearlings I've liked at various sales. This summer was a lot of fun because a lot of the ones I like that raced ended up breaking their maiden in their first or second start and were good bets (except Most Distinguised, but we won't go there :D ).
I'm really excited for the Freshman sires this year. The photos of last years Empire Maker yearlings were very nice and a few I saw in person were as well. I liked an Alderbran at the FT Sar, but I've never seen any of his other yearlings. I think the Calder sale had a few cataloged though so I'm curious to see how they sell and hopefully there will be pictures somewhere.
