How many times has it happened that scouts go to a game to a look at a specific player and they come out impressed with someone that was not on the radar. Obviously this kid is on the radar if he is already headed to Indiana.
But this is what I love about these youngsters playing basketball. They develop so rapidly and other stars just stall. You just never know who is going to end up making it.
One kid five years ago or so I taught in my Physics class... Trent Plaisted, was a very tall but an incredibly unathletic kid. A year later he is getting very quick and then by the time he is a senior he is super quick and has become an athlete, is recruited by BYU (his family is mormon) and he goes. I say to him college is a completely different game, you will have to keep improving and I look back and he makes Freshman of the year in the Conf.
Now, BYU just ends up beating ranked Air Force and the kid is a soph. and scores 25 points with some big rebounding. This is a kid that I used to joke about his very short (T-Rex) arms and he just continues to improve. Ya never know. I really never thought he would reach this level. Good for him.
