Yikes Playa!
Tough stuff. Sad about the spill at AQ. Sad about yours too.
Let's keep this all a "secret" from that PETA gal that showed up on Larry King.
It will give her even more ammunition to outlaw thoroughbred racing.
Mummms the word. SHHHHHH!

wow dts i didnt even watch larry king but the day barbaro was put down and all my family and friends who called me to ask and talk about it who know nothing about racing were all told by me i was sure peta would get involved somehow. the weather here in chicago is going to get extremely brutal the next week starting saturday(2morrows not gonna be so great either) so alotta people were workin horses the last couple days

Left Bank 02-01-2007 05:05 PM

Right Playa...the Peta lady tried to get a lot of mileage out of the Barbaro tragedy.
Here in NY it's been plenty cold too. Just my opinion but it can get tough on the horses when it's too cold. Respiratory stuff and hard ground.
When the exercise riders are wearing face masks and extra goggles, might be best to wait for a break in the winter. It will come soon.

Good to see ya.

i misunderstood then...thought you guys lost two yourselves. still sad to hear tho.

oaklawn is down thru sunday at least. rotten weather down here right now.

blackthroatedwind 02-01-2007 05:29 PM

I hope the riders are OK. Last I heard Santos and Dominguez went to the hospital. Santos is a nice guy and he's certainly had his share of injuries. I'm afraid after today Ramon may start thinking twice about sneaking into tight spots, which I guess is good and bad, but hopefully he's not hurt. Tough enough game, and jockeys may be the horseplayers enemy, but they're also our friends.

paisjpq 02-01-2007 05:33 PM

On the subject of injured jocks...Napravnik out for a while...it's too bad.
