Simply put, the single best wagering day during the winter. Lots of long prices and decent pools to shoot at.

Now that's a good card!

The Mig gets the call on Bordonaro. I've always liked this horse and hope he wins the sprint.

Cajungator26 01-25-2007 09:41 AM

I can hardly wait!!!

Gander 01-25-2007 09:43 AM

I think Red Warrior has a shot in the Sprint. There doesnt appear to be too many front runners in here, but I still think the pace may be fast enough for this horse. He may a deceivingly good move in his last (race where Harvard Avenue closed from the clouds). This is 2nd off layoff and the last was clearly a prep for this. Red Warrior will run his best race, now whether thats good enough remains to be seen. I'd give him a long look in all slots.

Red Warrior won on this day 2 years ago in a race marred by the tragic breakdown of Green Team. I dont believe hes won since.

gulf seat prices and TV millions

FYI - Checked out the seat prices for Millions day and Donn day . It's $30 for one of those cherished frankie seats for millions and $20 for donn seats. BTW; Frankie was in the house on MLK day last week. I was going down to the paddock rail to check feet and he was getting up and going up the aisle with daughter ?
If you have been there ( I have) there is not enough room between the rows , and everytime someone wants to pass thru, the entire row has to stand up. then there is the matter of getting the bet in. If you are fortunate to spot a portable teller nearby, thats great, but if not , its a sprint up the stairs and thru the restaurant to a window and a line with tables getting in the way. As much as I'd like to go, I will stay at home and avoid the hassles on track. BTW; read that NBC will have Millions on from 4-6pm from both tracks.

.......yeah gandy, we both had the green that day, i almost knoked someone out who was crowing about a win in that race...... i hate when people cheer after a breakdown...... its about the lowest someone can get at the track.

Guys look like a good day!!

What you think bout Lava Man??? Very good chance that he gets beat. Icy Atlantic who has been the butt of jokes for 2 months now could be a factor in the race and help and closer win this race.

Go Between could look good in this race hopefully at a nice price

tycharles01 01-25-2007 12:33 PM

Also does anyone know the exact race order?

SA gonna have 2-5 and GS have 7-10

Gander 01-25-2007 12:51 PM

Sheba- I actually had a huge bet on My Cousin Matt that day. He was making his move right when Green Team broke down in front of him and caused Matt to check and incidentally any chance to win.

That was one of thw worst days I have ever had at the track.

lemoncrush 01-25-2007 01:00 PM

I believe this is Go Between's first race against older, and with this field (although it's not that intimidating) I don't see him having a chance to win. But I haven't looked hard at the PPs yet, so I'll probably change my mind by tonight.
:)

Best value is the sprint.Souvenir E.,or N. Affair can collect the outside 3smokers.Gander,come again with there doesn't appear to be many frontrunners in there?Smokey Go Boy,PT TOO,Bordonaro?Whole lotta smoke.Maybe even your horse(R.W.) has a chance.

Gander 01-25-2007 01:15 PM

I forgot about Smokey the Bear. Hes pretty quick as is Bordonaro but I dont see anyone outkicking Proud Tower Too for the lead or even attempting to make the lead against him. Bordonbaro and Smokey probably think they can win rating just behind Proud Tower Too.

That said I dont think the pace is going to be super quick or super slow, but honest enough. Nighttime Affair is not a horse I would use. Cant see him winning out of Florida. Hes run his worst race when he ships, albeit he was a decent third in the BC Sprint in Kentucky.

I see the race (at this point anyways) coming down to Bordonaro or Red Warrior.

tycharles01 01-25-2007 01:24 PM

Nightmare Affair has a good shot!!

He loves 6f and even gets a rider he loves in Castro, plus he likes to close and with the speed in the race they will be knocking each other off the top

2MinsToPost 01-25-2007 06:26 PM

If Wild Buddy wins you might hear me from coast to coast celebrating, from work cause I have to work that night arghhh!

cakes44 01-26-2007 07:43 AM

Areyoutalkintome has a legitimate shot in here.

Dallas has him ready to go - s/b used in all exotics - Hopefully Cajun will let me know how he looks in the paddock

lemoncrush 01-26-2007 08:08 AM

Per the DRF, it looks like REVVED UP didn't ship to Santa Anita due to a sore foot.
Complicates the turf race a bit if you want to try to beat Lava Man.
