Mare Record ?

Does anyone know the record for the number of foals a mare throws and number of foals who win ?

In Gulfstreams 3rd race saturday, the dam of the #1 Historyofasaint, is Historic Mission. While she was unplaced as a runner, she has produced 14 starters and 12 winners. I don't recall ever seeing a higher number before. Is there such a record for such things at the Jockey Club ?

It doesnt beat that but Mom's Command was a nice broodmare (are racer too). She produced 14 foals of which 10 raced and 9 were winners. I believe her last foal is a 3yr old filly now who has yet to break her maiden yet so if she does it would be 10 to race and 10 winners?

Secretariat's dam, Something Royal, had 18 foals, 15 runners and 14 winners..

La Troienne, the greatest and most important mare ever in the U.S., dropped 14 foals with 12 runners, 10 winners, 5 stakes winners and 2 champions.. (Bimelech and Black Helen). And of course also had an effect on the breed that endures today...

There's other prolific, "professional mothers" out there..

Does anyone know how many foals Hasili has? On pedigree query, they only list six, but all six of them are winners, and five of them are very notable winners -- heat haze, banks hill, dansili, intercontinental, and cacique.

Thanks for that link about Hasili, very impressive. I will also remember to make a mental note on Dansili as a sire now as well.

BTW, off topic, while channel surfing last night I came upon the movie Seabiscuit. Does anyone else think that Steve Byk could have played the role of Tick Tock Mc Glaughlin played by Bill Macy ? :D

Mepache who is entered in FT FEB KY mixed sale (hip 205) has produced 14 winners from 17 foals with 2 as of yet unraced and a newly turned 2 yo. Has 3 stakes winners including Valid expectations and 4 stakes placed runners.

It's kind of mystical that Somethingroyal's one and only start was at Saratoga.

Yes, I know this mare well. She has at least 6 foals by Valid Appeal. Three of which are stakes winners and 2 that are stakes placed. Valid E. obviously stands in TX and Littleexpectations is now back in KY. Little E has sired King of the Roxy from a book of $3k mares.

well, don't know about official records...

i do know fanfreluche was a heck of a producer. 18 foals, three champions, 16 of those 18 started. a 17th has no info, the 18th unraced. 13 were winners.

then there's lady winborne. 15 foals, 13 starters--and all of them winners.
