This article is pretty funny. It is on ESPN's web site. Here is the link to the article. My fav line "All I have to do is hit one bet and I am even for the week." Classic

Eurobounce,

Good column. Thanks for sharing.

BTW, I made a spontaneous trip to the OTB today and came up dry on my first five wagers. One of those frustrating days when you're picking surprise horses who run as you've predicted, but not quite getting it coupled the right way to collect a ticket.

As the writer mentions, I did the "one more bet" to get ahead, and did catch a tri at Santa Anita. My 11-1 shot came in on top, and the favorite was out of the top 3.

I thought it should have paid more than $271, but at least I ended up pretty close back to even.

Sunshine Millions, this Saturday.

Can't wait.

It's almost grown to be the equivalent of "pitchers and catchers report."

SM is next Saturday, but I'm with you on looking forward to it and baseball. Santa Anita and the Dodgers only overlap for about 2 weeks on both ends (end of SA-first 2.5 weeks of baseball and Oak Tree-pennant race/playoffs), but its the most beautiful time of the year for me. Two festivals of lights for me. Christmas in April and October.

Thanks for the correction!

I saw the banner today saying "January 27th" as the Sunshine Millions celebration at the OTB. Not sure why I was inclined to skip January 20th!

By the way, if you're a Dodger Fan you might already know the feature race at Santa Anita today was the "Willie Davis 3 Dog." Willie Davis was in the Winner's Circle for the presentation, and looked pretty much in playing condition to me.

He could have used some "Just For Men," but other than that playing condition I tell ya....:)

Easy to skip this weekend my friend... unless Sunday surprises me it will my first week staying away from Arcadia since opening day. For better or worse.

In re: to Willie Davis....thats too cool. Wish I could have been here to see it. I guess speed recognizes speed no matter what the playing field.
