that's terrifying. i'm interested in seeing how this one turns out -- as technically that is the same exact thing as invading Iran under international law.

Not shocked that something stupid like that would happen though.

I agree with you. You might be too young to remember how the US reacted when our embassy was taken along with hostages in Tehran.
I don't think good stuff will come of this.

Too young to remember, but have certainly read my share of articles and recounts of it. It just seems like we should know better.

Brian: to tell you the truth, I'm not sure. The veracity of facts coming out of that region leaves much to be desired. I went back to both stories and the detainment of Iranian diplomats was yesterday, one day after the events I posted. Seems there's a diff of opinions about the consulate itself and a different building where the men were taken from for interrogation.
