Road To The Roses

Anyone have any idea when this starts? Last year it started Feb 11th with the Turf Paradise Derby.

Sign-ups started the 5th of February last year and you are/were correct on the first race.

Thanks Cakes. I always look forward to this contest. I always suck but it sure is fun. Plus it allows me to learn about all the horses.

LOL...I love this contest...I think last year I had lost half my stable to injury by the second week of march  still fun though

Can someone fill the newbies in on this contest? Is it through Derby Trail or someone/somewhere else?

Too long, too tedious. Too many people in it. Did it a few years back. Pass.

I am sure that this is the case, but I do agree that it is probably another tool to learn about the horses...

It definitely adds some more excitement to the derby trail, not that its necessary. Basically you pick 10 horses, 2 jocks and 2 trainers and you get points for wins. Its fun, even if you don't take it too serious. I always enjoy it!

My brother Ed finished 3rd in the contest last year ... he was leading going into the Derby and had Barbaro and Prado, but his trainers were Pletcher and Baffert .... he had Bluegrass Cat but did not activate him otherwise he probably would have won it ... still got some nice prizes for third place though.

Sniper placed in the Arlington Million Contest and got AWESOME prizes too and $250 cash, he missed out on the next place up ($500 in cash) because of being beat out in the tie-breaker question.
