chris emigh

do you guys know where he is riding this winter? is it hawthorne?
on my three trips to chicago this summer i was really impressed with this guy. he was amazing.
by my third trip to arlington i learned to analyze the race in my usual fashion (i don't pay a lot of attention to who the jock is typically) and place my regular bet. then i would put an extra $2wps bet on whichever horse emigh was on. he won 3 times that day and one of the horses was somewhere around 9-1 so I came out way ahead (proportionally) on my chris emigh bets.
anyway, i was just wondering if he was still up in chicago for the winter.

Emigh is riding over at Hawthorne. I believe he's been there since their meet opened. He's winning at a 20% rate and about 37% in the exactas on the year
(inc. AP ). I don't play Hawthorne much, but when I do,... I'll always give his horses the 1st look. It''s tough to get a good Win mutual on him tho....the word is out. I agree that he's The Man in Chi--town.

he's always been pretty tough -- but he's been having a hard time getting the very best mounts because in summers past he was up against Rene Douglas, Shaun Bridgmohan, Robby Albarado etc -- this summer, he really had it all his own way until Albarado showed up, but by then he was way on top to begin with!

DO NOT Play SHANE LAVIOLETTE AT ARLINGTON. If you have to force yourself to play him, just don't do it in an allowance race.

Emigh is extremely solid at Arlington. For me, he seems like a better dirt rider then turf rider for some reason

True about him seeming better on dirt. On turf for some reason I tend to love Perez and Marquez Jr.

Both Block riders. The Arlignton turf is a very bias track, the quicker you figure out the more money you make

What kind of bias do you see on it, if you don't mind me asking? I'm not insinuating that it's unbiased, just making sure I'm not a total idiot :D

It is either one or the other, it is never fair from what I can tell. Alot of it is based on where the rail is set. They set it at three distances. I know Million Lane is speed favoring, farther out their go, better closers do

i really should pay more attention this year to the rail placement, because i always find it to be really beneficial to horses running in the 1-2-3-4 spots.

Million lane has seemed to play pretty fair on Million day the last few years -- but can't vouch for the other days. I'm looking forward to the AP meet now that I'm here on DT, because there will be plenty of discussions and selections I'd imagine.

Million Lane is far out so it usually favors closers.....when the rail is set at zero feet it favors speed and as it gets out father it favors closers.....i think the million lane is 20 feet out but I could be wrong on that

Habersham000 12-30-2006 11:50 AM

oh and on emigh, he would be a better rider if he actually didn't have to go 4 or 5 wide all the time and would actually take the rail when it is open....the man is scared of the rail

1) Million is 0 feet

2) You work there, VERIFY IT

Habersham000 12-30-2006 11:59 AM

Million is not at 0 ft. I am positive on that
