I'll take Gomez every time over anyone else. He'll blow one every few months, but he more than makes up for it with all of his great rides. He's one of the only guys that can move a horse way up.

This was a monumentally bad ride by Gomez. Look, he wasn't winning regardless, and maybe he wasn't even getting a piece, but you don't ride every horse the same. Jamming 2-1 favorites inside in 12 horse fields is not the way you are supposed to ride. In a case like this you make sure you are in the clear so that if and when you lose it is because you weren't good enough. Gomez rode Brother Derek with no confidence and completely buried him.
Latent Heat, on the other hand, had tactical speed, made a perfect trip for himself and won like the nice horse he is. It will be interesting to see if Frankel stretches him out, and if so, how he does. I guess at this point the Met Mile has to be a goal. Good horse. Good trainer. Hope he races him.
