Timber Country

I was watching HRTV Re-Run last night and they were playing the San Rafael the year that Larry The Legend won. Anyway, in that race Timber Country was running under the colors of Bob and Beverly Lewis. Now I could have sworn that Timber Country was owned by Overbrook Farms. Am I dreaming this or did Overbrook sell the horse to the Lewis's? Any help is appreciated.

I only remember him wearing the Lewis's colors.

You're correct about Overbrook, but he was owned by Overbrook with Gainesway Farm and Robert and Beverly Lewis.

It was a partnership between Overbrook, Lewis's and Gainesway Farm

Hmmm...I wonder how they decided what silks he would wear. Do you have any idea? He certainly was nice horse.

I would guess they just rotated every race he ran in.

Makes sense to me. Now I know I am not going crazy.

IM serious, I think they rotated it.

I remember the 2000 Blue Grass, High Yield wore Tabor's Cap with the Lewis's silks, looked kind of strange, he beat out More Than Ready that day...

KirisClown 12-06-2006 04:32 PM

I believe the silks were determined by where the horse ran...

West Coast = Lewis colors

East Coast = Gainesway colors

Kentucky, etc = Overbrook colors
