As well timed a ride as you'll ever see. When Romero Maragh was injured Friday morning, Gary tabbed Katie and told her Landauer was sitting on a good effort and that she'd be the only closer in a race with speed. She did the rest. Had been disappointed with her after a bad decision with Scherzando a couple months ago, but she more than made up for it here.

Almost exactly 15 years to the day we started together with Lloydobler, at Aqueduct, this victory breaks an agonizing 50 race streak winless skein in what is likely the last start we'll have with Gary who is winding down his training career.
