Cunningham can ride a little bit

New bugboy at Aqueduct just impressed me with a ride you usually don't see a bug boy give. He was riding for Shug in the 7th race and slipped through a tight hole on the inside without steadying or losing momentum and then continued up the rail inside Johnny V in a tight spot and almost nailed him.

You usually don't see a bug boy with the guts to try and almost succeed with a ride like that. Is this the kid from New Mexico or out West somewhere?
I was impressed.

yes and yes. Put It back was the horses name and hes off to a good start at stud.
He has a daughter running in a stakes race at Calder tomorrow.

After he passed Phoenix Heat, I think he should have come to the outside of Armonk Benny for his final run... he certainly had time to do so...

I think he was going to but Johnny's horse started bearing out once he started hittinghim left handed. The kid made the proper move of staying on the rail and came up one jump short.
I thought what was more impressive was how he went through the traffic without hesitating on the rail on the turn.
Kids either crazy or has a lotta guts.

New Mexico, yes. Regular jock for that Rocky Gulch horse, alltime winning NewMex bred.

Joel is one hell of a rider. Just ask him....

Left Bank 12-02-2006 10:06 AM

Kyle Branch is just as good also.

kentuckyrosesinmay 12-02-2006 10:25 AM

Joel doesn't post on here anymore, so I don't see where the smart ass comment would be effective. Also, he will admit to anyone that he has very limited experience on a horse.

He's not a product of the new McCarron jock school because it just started this year and the program lasts for two years. You won't see those riders out of there until 2008.

I wonder if the position of English Lit professor has been filled. Do you know where one can send their resume?

kentuckyrosesinmay 12-02-2006 10:59 AM

No, but I can find out. If it is working in conjunction with the Kentucky Community College system though, I expect the position is already filled.

Was meant as a joke, but probably in poor taste. Don't know Joel and didn't know he wasn't posting here anymore. Cheap humor anyway. Apologize for me when you see him, k?;)

The Bid 12-02-2006 02:45 PM

Where did he go, and why
