Ron Ellis Shipping out of Cali

I do not remember this happening very much. He must be really happy with how BB is doing, looking forward to seeing the sheets for this race. I know Master Command is as fast as him sheetwise, but MC ran a huge race last time so he could bounce.

Master Command won a narrow decision over Andromeda's Hero, while setting a moderate pace on a track at least kind to speed, so how exactly could he have run a " huge race "?

A lot of mediocrity seems get confused with talent if you ask me. Perhaps the dearth of talent is responsible for its constant misrepresentation.

Scav 06-13-2006 01:53 PM

He DIDN'T NARROWLY win. He won that race IN HAND by 1 or two EASY lengths.

blackthroatedwind 06-13-2006 01:54 PM

Good luck.

Ron ships his good horses out of California all the time. This is the third time that he has shipped BB out of California. In his last race BB was shipped to Oaklawn for the Oaklawn Handicap. Master Command was in that race. BB won the race by 6 1/2 lengths. I think Master Command ran 4th or 5th.
Ron shipped BB to Belmont for the Discovery Handicap where he ran 3rd.
Ron shipped Don't Get Mad to Churchill, Saratoga, and Hoosier. Ron ships horses all the time.

Master Command made an easy lead and then was scrubbed like a bathroom sink to rerally and win. There was absolutely nothing behind him and there is NO WAY he beats real horses in a grade one. WHo in the world is responsible for spreading the completely unfounded rumor that Master is a worthy grade one horse? Whoever it is sure doesn't watch races or race replays with any clarity.

Easy?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tell you what, I haven't rewatched the race since that day, but I will set the over under on the number of times he got hit at 10. I also KNOW that Gomez went to an all in full out drive on the TURN!!! If thats easy, well, I don't really think you saw the race.

Scav 06-13-2006 02:07 PM

All I said was that Master was as fast 'sheet wise' as BB, I never said he was going to win. I hope Buzzard wins, for fun, because I am unloading on him.

Are you actually familiar with this supposed " huge " effort?

The track was very kind to inside speed. Master Command broke from the rail and as the only real speed set a leisurely pace. That model of consistent mediocrity, Andromeda's Hero, made a sustained premature move to reach the front as they turned for home, and Master Command held him off while being hard ridden. If this is your idea of a " huge " performance then I guess there is nothing to talk about.

Truthfully, Master Command ran a better race when fourth, beaten 10 lengths, to Buzzard's Bay at Oaklawn.

Scav 06-13-2006 02:27 PM

Probably so because he was 4w3w that day at Oaklawn while BB was 2w2w(Not 100% sure on that number)

THE ONLY THING I SAID WAS THAT THEY WERE COMPARABLE SHEET WISE...Learn how to read. I thought that performance last out was a big one from him. Do I think he is going to beat BB? NO.

I never said that race was LOADED with Grade 1 winners, nor did I say anything about MC winning. ALL I SAID was that sheet wise, specificially THOROGRAPH wise, they are comparable.

blackthroatedwind 06-13-2006 02:30 PM

Actually, this is what you said......

I would say I do know how to read. What you need to do is learn how to watch a race properly.

Noone seems to care to do that anymore.

I think Master Command will run a very good race on Saturday.

I don't think that Pletcher is going to run Master Command. BB beat him by 10 lengths last time. MC was probable for this race but that was before Pletcher found out that BB was in the race. I think that MC will skip this one. I think that TP may have a horse in the race though. I heard that he may run West Virginia.
In addition, it now looks like Wanderin Boy is going to skip this race.

I hope all three run so it will help the odds on BB, I think he is going to get unloaded on. So if Pletcher runs MC and Zito runs Wanderin, that will help BB's odds, tremendously
