🏇 Venue 9/3 = Saratoga 🏇

The Thrill Of Winning
Then Comes With A Chore
Of Deciding A Venue
That Most Will Adore

Sometimes That Choice
Is So Hard To Decide
With 2 Different Options
Of Where Next To Ride

I’ve Mewsed + I’ve Pondered
Until I Felt Queasy
So I Finally Decided
To Make The Day Easy

It’s Saratoga Only
The Full Card To Play
Will Leave Ole Del Mar
For Some Other Day

Ruffian, this is all very cute (but rather silly) but you took us around the barn and back again, which was totally unecessary and quite bothersome, at least to me. I caved in on the two venue stakes only card and decided to go with it as an exception to the unwritten rule but now you've changed your my mind again. I should have said NOPE pick one or the other . . . so I added to the "dilemma" as you put it. So now you've embarrassed me and yourself. Wont happen again.

In the future if you happen to win points and have a split minded proposal abouth any venue, please send a PM to me so we can spare everyone else this tiresome pondering, OK. If you need to respond to this post . . . how about a simple, "OK" or if you must rhyme, how about "OK, go take on the day".

Thank you.

PS - I'm going to exercise my Administrator's right, which I don't think I've ever done unilaterally before, and say we are changing the card to 11 races, ending with the Jockey Club Gold Cup . . . keeping Plenilune's scoring in mind. The last wo races are easily dismissed. I'll put the threads up sometime between now and bed time.

DON
What I tried to do at first ~
Ask Players opinions on which track was preferred
And offered up the IDEA 💡 of an ALL STAKES DAY
Even Knowing …. YOU would probably veto it

As the Winner, I didn’t have to ask anybody’s opinion
I didn’t have to offer up an idea for a response

💥 After reading Joly‘s commentary about the time zones ⏰
And possible issues for players because of that
I actually made the decision Based on an EASIER day for all the players! :)

I guess it really is true

NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED 😼

So, what are we playing? the whole card?

Real Quiet 09-01-2022 07:05 PM

Actually Don we could skip the first two races, both Maidens.

So lets continue here, are you proposing a 9 race card 3-11? And Cal, we are not playing the whole card . . . except for that, the debate continues I guess.

1. Or I could say, lets just call it bye week.
2. Or I could say, Y'all put it up for a real vote.
3. Or I could say, whatever Ruffian decides.
4. Or I could say, someone else decide.

But I won't. Pick one . . . but y'all are missing my point and that's OK.

Real Quiet 09-01-2022 09:34 PM

I HANDICAPPED the entire card so it really doesn't matter to me. In the ROI it doesn't matter how many races you use. If I screw up it doesn't matter if we play one race or 13. It's just a long day for our point scorer so no Ruff. We don't need any bonus races.

Plenilune 09-01-2022 11:00 PM

I don't normally speak up about which card to play. But WHEW! This whole craziness makes me :zz:.

How about KY Downs, all turf racing? I mean, who wouldn't want to handicap a race with Janis Joplin running? :D Ok, ok, J/K, kind of.

The only thing I will say is that I'm sad we haven't played Del Mar, yet, my hometown track. Maybe later in the season we'll get a chance at it. :)

Y'all know I'm good with whatever track is chosen. Go with the flow.;)

Almost bedtime, and I promised. This should strike a chord with all who have chimed in, even last weeks Points winner, Ruffian. Since this is such a diplomatic group, I'm proposing, no making a decision as follows. Well, maybe not, all. OK the threads will be up shortly(relatively speaking) or at least by morning. Sorry RQ we're not playing the whole card, which also answers Cal's question. Ohhhh, the suspense of it all?

JolyB is reading all of this back and forth verbage (staying neutral) and just smiling sitting in his easy chair, with an occasional head scratch, I'm sure :D

And I hope we never go down this slippery slope again while I'm still around.

GEE…
ALL THESE YEARS
I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION

🏆 WINNER CHOOSES VENUE

GUESS WE CAN LEARN SOMETHING NEW EACH DAY

AS WINNER, I CHOSE SARATOGA ( Full Card )

APPARENTLY THAT DOESNT MATTER :(

You're right. Perhaps just should have gone with stakes races from both tracks, enough said. We've done it before. Let that be the choice. I don't believe anyone would have had an issue with that choice and if they did they can just opt out that week. No big deal.

Finally a voice of reason. I'll have the threads up as soon as I get back from walking a couple of dogs, TY Plen.

FYI

I ONLY SWITCHED FROM ALL STAKES VENUE
BASED UPON JOLY’s INFORMATION RE TIME ZONES
AFFECTING SCRATCHES AND PLAYERS ABILITY TO AMEND PIX

SO I APOLOGIZE FOR TRYING TO BE CONSIDERATE 🤔

Understand, no apology needed.
